William talks about regrets about The Bachelorette
William got a strong start on The Bachelorette, with the fake wedding planning date with Ashley that aired in the season premiere. His popularity took a nosedive when he insulted Ashley in the unfunny roast and sent her into tears. Bentley appeared like a Prince Charming to comfort the distraught bachelorette, all the while making snide comments behind her back.
Like Jeff, the Masked Man, before him, William said that he did not see the nasty comments about Ashley made by Bentley. William’s comments are in the blue boxes.
William Holman: You know, from – I actually roomed with him in the house and nobody had anything bad – bad to say about Bentley and whenever I talk to Bentley, we always talk about his daughter and that’s all that was discussed. He never opened up and said the things that we heard on TV were discussed that he was, you know, upset that it was Ashley. There was never any of that kind of talk.
Question: If you’d have been in Hong Kong when Bentley returned, what would have been your reaction?
William Holman: If – we all felt like that Bentley would come back because we saw the connection they had or we thought they had, but if I was in Hong Kong and Bentley returned, I would be happy to see Bentley but I’ll also question, you know, why he was – why he was coming back out, why he didn’t have – why he didn’t stick around? It would be troublesome to know that the girl that you’re trying to go after is still hooked on another guy that left weeks ago.
Question: And then, as a follow up was that just maybe cause you to question, leaving the show or how would you have approach it because the tease at last week, the guys had been so upset.
William Holman: Yes, I didn’t see the tease at the end of the last episode to see how they were. I’m sure they were upset because they want to move forward, too. I don’t know if I would – I don’t know if I would have left. I don’t know, that’s a tough thing because if I was there, I might have a different feeling like, you know, why am I going through all these if she’s just so stuck on Bentley, why can’t we just move forward? But maybe she is doing it for closure, maybe he’s coming out to apologize. You know, everybody deserves a second chance or an explanation and maybe that’s what he’s doing on this next week’s episode.
Question: Was it obvious to you that Ashley was hung up on Bentley? I mean, did everyone see that she was unable to open up to them because of Bentley?
William Holman: No, it was – at least for myself, it didn’t look like it with the other guy but we did not see that connection. We saw it after they got back from the Jabbawockeez dance where, you know, Bentley was in a good mood; he was in high spirit. You know, we saw her reaction to Bentley at the roast when she just lit up when he came in, but we didn’t feel that – we didn’t know until we watch the show that he felt that way. It was complete shock to know that there was kind of connection that they had. We didn’t know that she’s still stuck on him.
