Rumors have been swirling already about Season 7 Bachelorette contestant Bentley Williams. During his intro package on Monday’s premiere he seems charming enough at first, sharing pictures of his young daughter and revealing that his first marriage broke up because they took on too much, too fast. He goes on, however, to say that he hopes the Bachelorette is Emily.
When Ashley is talking with Chris Harrison, she shares that she has been warned by a friend and former contestant that Bentley is there for the wrong reasons. From what fans have gathered, Ashley’s fellow Bachelor cast mate Michelle Money knows Bentley’s ex-wife. Money is said to have heard Williams was going on the show, and she contacted Ashley to warn her he is only there for his own personal agenda.
Ashley is anxiously waiting to meet Bentley as the men arrive and she is hopeful he will be someone she can easily write off. Unfortunately for her, she finds him attractive and charming. She talks with him later on, and is finding herself won over by the façade he is putting on with her. Throughout the episode, Bentley is shown making a number of nasty comments. Some are things he said during the first show, and some are in previews of things to come. He says he doesn’t “give a shit” about Ashley and that things could have been different if it were Emily who was the Bachelorette.
According to gossip guru Reality Steve, Bentley leaves the show on his own in episode three, but that’s not the last viewers will see of him. He tells Ashley that he is leaving because he misses his daughter, but it appears it is all part of a game. He is also said to come back later in the show, during episode six, to talk to Ashley. There aren’t a lot of details on this yet, but it is said that he leaves without actually going through another rose ceremony. From the previews, it does appear that Bentley’s games take a serious toll on Ashley.
What was your first impression of Bentley? It looks like Ashley really begins to fall for him, despite the warnings she received. Fans hope it doesn’t distract her too much from the other great guys who do seem to be on the show for the right reasons. Tune in every Monday night to Channel 15 in the Scottsdale area to see Ashley search for her Mr. Right on The Bachelorette.
