Do you ever consider where your products come from? Who produced them? What were the working conditions? How much was the worker paid for their labor? Or do you just look for the least expensive products? Do you buy Fair Trade?
Fair Trade is a trading partnership, based on interchange, transparency and respect that strives for greater justice in international trade. Fair Trade seeks to help producers in emerging countries create better trading conditions and promote sustainability. It supports the payment of a higher price to producers as well as higher social and environmental standards. Fair Trade stimulates exports from developing countries to industrialized countries. An anti-slave labor movement, Fair Trade focuses on insuring the workers a living wage and safe working conditions. All around the world, people fall victim to human trafficking only while searching for a decent job.
