All of us have been guilty on several occasions of making major decisions in our lives that weren’t thought out. The decisions we made were based on our emotions, our instincts, or even our education and experience. We have even been found making decisions simply based on what another person has told us. After these decisions have been made, the results were either positive or negative. Oftentimes when the results were positive we felt we did exactly what we should have done, this may not be the case; and when the results weren’t so favorable we felt the decision was a bad one, not necessarily so. In order to save ourselves time, energy, and money, the best solution to this problem is to simply seek God. It sounds so easy, but if it were easy, everyone would be doing it. The word of God tells us that in all our ways we should acknowledge Him and He will direct our paths. Notice that the word “paths” is plural. This means that God will direct every single path we should take from beginning to end. By following God’s direction, we are sure to receive the results that God wants for our lives. Sometimes these results may not be what we want, but I can assure you they are the results we need.
God has a plan and purpose for everyone’s life. The only way to know what this plan and purpose is would be to seek Him. Many times we don’t know what God wants for us simply because we haven’t asked Him. In order to stay on the course God has charted for us we must stay in His will. God’s will is the only sure way to do and be exactly what He wants us to do and to be. There are going to be times when we ask God for direction and he won’t answer us right away. That’s when one of the fruits of the spirit must manifest, that is patience. In our society today this word is almost unheard of because so many people aren’t willing to wait, not just for God, but for anything! We want what we want when we want it! I have found that once God sees that we have become settled in our spirit He will then release the answers we have been seeking.
Keep in mind that wherever God wants you to be, He has already given you the anointing to be in that place. With this anointing comes strength that will keep you and protection that will preserve you. Whatever He has called you to do, He has already given you the anointing to do it. Are you working on a job you despise and it’s wearing you out? A relationship? A residence? If you answered yes to any of these questions it could be quite possible you are not where you have been called to be; and this is certainly out of God’s will. Sometimes we may have to move, leave jobs, or cut off relationships just to be in God’s will. Always remember to never make any sudden moves without seeking God. We must remember that He does all things decently and in order. I encourage you to pray and ask God to give you direction in each of these areas of your life. So again I ask you, “What are you willing to do to stay in God’s will?” God bless you and stay encouraged and in God’s will!
