Founded by Washingtonian brothers Jim and Brian Sullivan, Tynan Coffee & Tea seeks an alternative to the large corporate coffee shops, that dominate the city and suburbs. Went to the Chevy Chase location for breakfast and ordered a breakfast sandwich with egg and turkey sausage. No cheese, please!
The breakfast sandwich was a disappointment. It is an upgraded version of a fast food and frozen breakast sandwich with two pieces of bread, toasted with an egg patty and turkey sausage patty. Two packets of ketchup were served on the side. It would have been better if there were home potatoes or hash browns served on the side. For $3.99, it is not worth buying. The customer would be better off making this at home!
Having that breakfast concluded that the food is not worth buying at Tynan Coffee and Tea. The drinks, however, are more satisfying. The dirty chai tea is like drinking tea and coffee at the same time. It has a shot of espresso. Another drink is the tea-quila sunrise. A cool, refreshing drink for those hot days is a lemon-flavored green tea and chilled sparking water with a lime swirl.
