As we age there are areas on our bodies that show more noticeable signs of aging than other areas. Proper skincare regiments, exercise, sleeping habits, healthy eating, stress levels and gender are all commanding factors that help dictate the progression of aging. Keepng that youthful look is important to most. Wanting to keep ones youthfulness is easily said but actually putting forth the effort and sticking to the “commanding factors” listed above takes some work. An Esthetician cannot stress the importance of taking care of ones skin. Not only ones face but body as well.
Our hands take on a lot of hardships. Natural elements such as the wind, frigid air, and the sun leave hands dry and chaffed. Also household chemicals, and daily activities are harsh on our precious hands. Over time our hands show the damages endured over the years. The moisture can be depleted in our skin after the continuous washing; moisturing after each wash is very important because it helps retain the natural oils in the skin. Many spas offer treatments such as Radiesse treatment ( which is injecting hyaluronic acid). Liver spots (also known as age spots or brown spots) are another issue many have with aging hands. Many professionals suggest using products with lightening agents such as hydoquinone which can assist in lightening and/or laser treatment. Unfortunately complete erasure is not 100%. Lastly veins becoming more exposed in the hands is inevitable because dermal fat is loss over time so veins become more visbile because of the thinnng of the skin. Wearing suncreen and moisturizer are on-going regiments that should be done to avoid premature aging. At the point where thinning occurs having procedures done at a spa can help make the hands appear less wrinkled and the skin plumper.
Our eyes can tell others and ones self many things. Looking in the mirror one can see tiredness or even see emotions. These are factors seen throughout life but as we get older signs of aging occurs around ones eyes. Aging and signs of aging are inevitable but there are small things one can do to put off those unwamted “crows feet” (The lines on the outter corner area of the eys that really are pronounced when one squints and smiles), bags and wrinkles. Ones technique in rubbing and cleansing the eye area is very important . Always wipe lightly around the eyes when either applying or removing product. The skin around the eyes is the thinnest skin on the body so being light with the finger and not being aggressive is very important. Never and never is the key word pull on the eye area. When wiping the eye always go towards the the nose do not pull the skin outwards. It seems to be a habit for a lot of people to rub the eyes and pull the skin outwards. This may not seem like a big deal but in fact it is. Simple habits can mean a lot over time. Other important factors are wearing sunscreen everyday, being sure to clean ones face at night, removing any types of mascara (which can darken the skin overtime if not removed before bedtime), and investing in a moisturizer and/or eyecream that keeps ones skin stay moist and hydrated.
Wearing suncsreen and moisturizer is vital in maintaining heathy skin! Aging is inevitable but being proactive in taking care of ones skin will prove to be beneficial!
