Man v. Food Nation
Premieres Wednesday, June 1 at 9p.m. ET
- New Haven
Adam ventures back to his Alma matter in New Haven, Conn.—Yale University, to discover the origin of the hamburger. He also enjoys a mouth-watering Clams Casino brick oven pizza before helping a freshman at his second attempt to take down the Cheese Truck Challenge – to consume 10 grilled cheese sandwiches in one hour.
- Tampa Bay
Adam stops by Skippers Smokehouse to try alligator ribs and hits up Ybor City to taste the traditional Cuban sandwich at Aguila’s Sandwich Shop. Lastly, Adam guides pro-wrestler Jerry “Nasty” Sags to victory in his attempt to extinguish the Davy Jones Challenge- a scorching hot platter of 10 wings loaded with habaneros and capsaicin extract.
Adam tries the cuisine at Prince’s Hot Chicken Shack and the Pancake Pantry before guiding Nashville’s own country music stars, the Lo Cash Cowboys, through the Rooster Challenge at Roosters Texas Style BBQ – a 72 oz steak you can barely fit on a plate.
Adam heads to hamburger heaven at Bill’s Jumbo Burger to taste the Double Okie Burger. Next, he travels to the Spudder, where he chows down on one of T-Towns most legendary steaks, the Gusher. Finally, Adam guides one of Tulsa’s bravest firefighters through the Joe Mamma’s Incinerator Spicy Pizza Challenge: ten scorching hot slices topped with diced habaneros, sliced jalapenos, wasabi, and a ghost chili siracha swirl.
In Albuquerque, Adam dines at the Frontier Restaurant, serving one of the best green-chile cheeseburgers in town for over 40 years, and Sadie’s for the gigantic meat-and-veggie-stuffed frybread known as The World’s Biggest Sopaipilla. Then, Adam recruits some of the hungriest locals named Travis to take on the legendary “Travis on a Silver Platter” challenge at Grandma’s K & I Diner. The platter is a gargantuan beef-and-bean burrito smothered in red and green chile sauce and buried by an avalanche of french fries.
