May 25, 2011 – To give fans a chance to relieve the action-packed, twist and turning past few months, the CW will be re-airing season two of The Vampire Diaires.
The second season will begin again this Thursday at 8:00 p.m. with the first episode The Return, which picks up right after season one left off.

As Elena (Nina Dobrev) arrives home, she discovers Uncle John (David Anders) and Jeremy’s (Steven R. McQueen) fate in a horrible scene. Meanwhile, Caroline (Candice Accola) is close to death in the hospital after suffering a car accident as Matt (Zach Roerig), Bonnie (Kat Graham), Damon (Ian Somerhalder)and Sheriff Forbes (Marguerite McIntyre) stand by.
When things look bleak, Bonnie asks Damon to feed Caroline his blood so she can be recover. Once she’s better, Katherine shows up pretending to be Elena and kills her turning her into a vampire.

With all the crazy events that have happened, Damon finally realizes that Katherine is back in town, so he and Stefan have to find out what she wants. This episode is also the one when we first meet Mason Lockwood, who shows up after Tyler’s father gets killed.
So many things happened this season, that re-watching will be a great way to catch all the details again, and maybe to even see a few missed ones. It is also a great way to get your fix while waiting for season 3 in September!
