After a number of seasons where each show has stuck relatively with the status quo, both “The Big Bang Theory” and “The Office” are set to wrap up their seasons by introducing something rather revolutionary — change.
In the case of the former, we could see for the first time a situation where Sheldon and Leonard are not living together. The previews for this episode indicate that Raj is going to become Sheldon’s new roommate, largely due to the fact that Leonard is spending so much time with the much-maligned Priya. There’s no sign that this move may be permanent, but it would be interesting to see the show play with this for a little while in order to keep things a bit interesting.
Meanwhile, “The Office” on NBC has been handed the difficult task of trying to find an adequate replacement for Steve Carell’s Michael Scott after seven years — and they have more than a few candidates to choose from. Ricky Gervais, Jim Carrey, and James Spader are among the big names showing up on the episode, but the name that is getting the most buzz as of now is Catherine Tate (although a theater commitment could be a red flag for her signing on to the show). It’s possible that we will know the replacement at the end of this episode, though the tricky producers could be so clever as to keep it a secret for cliff-hanger purposes.
Which finale are you more excited for?
