Fire department officials in Cicero have just issued a statement that they have discovered 50 living cats and several dead cats in the home of an elderly woman in her 70’s.
Allegedly, several dead cats were also found in the 70 year old woman’s yard.
An Indiana newspaper wrote a short blurb in regards to the incident, saying that firefighters were called to the woman’s home for a well-being check.
Deputy Fire Marshall Ron Opalecky issued a statement that said, “The health situation at the property was horrible.”
All 50 living cats have been taken to an animal shelter and the woman has been removed from her home as crews work to clean the property.
The name and block numbers of the woman in question have not been released to the press.
