The American Dance Festival (ADF) is a renowned national modern dance festival and after 78 years, still creating platforms to showcase innovative modern works by emerging and high profile national and international choreographers and dancers. They are celebrating their 78th season on June 9th through July 23rd which is entitled Something New, Something Treasured. The program honors the past and present of modern dance with eight ADF Commissioned World Premieres, five US Premieres, five Reconstructions, and five Company Debuts. Along with the celebrations, there may be tears of sadness as ADF recognizes Charles L. Reinhart’s final season who contributed and played a significant role in the evolution and proliferation of modern dance during his 43-year career. ADF will host a Gala to honor Reinhart with special dance works by artists and companies which include: the African American Dance Ensemble, Martha Clarke, Mark Dendy, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, and the Scottish Dance Theater.
This season will be an opportunity to experience ADF’s lineup of world class choreographers and productions. Celebrate the artistry in dance and discover the beauty, power, and grace of human performance entwined with music, costumes, masks, and the creations of the imagination. “We must preserve our great masterpieces as well as encourage new work from the talented, both young and established,” said Charles L. Reinhart.
