You don’t have to be a college student to take Creative Writing courses. On the contrary, you don’t even have to leave your home. A web site called Ed2go.com provides courses for anyone eighteen and older anywhere in the US on a variety of subjects, including Creative Writing.
Each course lasts six weeks and consists of twelve lessons. Two will be released each week and you’re given time to complete each lesson, so there’s no need to worry about needed to log on at a certain time. With each course you can also talk with your instructor and other participants online about each lesson. These discussions will be open for two weeks after each lesson. Everyone is also given a grace period in which to complete assignments which offers flexibility for each person to work at their own pace. Instructors are experts their field with many of the Creative Writing instructors having careers in publishing or published work.
Courses are $139 per course, which actually isn’t too bad for a college-level class. Most can cost about $200 or more, depending on the school. There’s no need to buy textbooks, no room and board to pay, and no need to leave your room. All you need is a computer, internet access, an e-mail address, and Adobe Flash and PDF plug-ins. That’s it!
