This class is the latest in Sur La Table’s Date Night series, focusing on creating romantic culinary adventures for two. In this installation they’ll show you how Italians in one of the most romantic cities in the world—Venice—celebrate their sun-drenched summers in gourmet style. Grab someone special and join them as they share authentic seasonal Venetian recipes for rustic dishes that take advantage of summer’s rich harvest of fruits and vegetables.

Knife Skills with Shun
In this workshop class that covers all the knife basics, Sur La Table will show you how to use what many consider to be the chef’s most important tool. You’ll master basic knife skills and the fundamental cuts for vegetables (mince, dice, brunoise, batonnet, and julienne), as well as a few advanced techniques. They’ll even show you how to select the right knife for any job, and share tips for keeping all your knives sharp and well maintained at home. Included with the class price is a professional-quality Shun Classic 6″ Chef’s Knife, a $144 value.

In Texas, barbecue means beef, where steaks and larger cuts are smoked and grilled to perfection, along with chicken and link sausages. In this class, master the art of cooking a Texan porterhouse along with chips, three prize-winning salsas, tangy potato salad, spicy cornbread, and a fruit-packed cobbler to round out the Texas-sized feast.
