For Sunday, June 26th 2011 LA TV Insider Examiner recommends:
Food Network Star (FOOD, 9pm) – “Cougar Town and Paula Deen” – Oh so many jokes within the title, but really, it’s much more literal than that. The contestants have to feed the cast and crew of ABC’s cult comedy Cougar Town, as well as create sophisticated hor d’oeuvres for Paula Deen and past Food Network Star winner Melissa d’Arabian.
True Blood (HBO, 9pm) – “She’s Not There” – In the fourth season premiere, Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) and Sookie (Anna Paquin) both try, in varying ways, to put out some good PR vibes to humans, while Sam (Sam Trammell) bonds with kindred spirits. Tara (Rutina Wesley) finds a new release for her anger, and Lafayette (Nelsan Ellise) gets introduced to a new coven.
Leverage (TNT, 9pm) – “The Long Way Down Job” – The fourth season premiere has the team heading to a mountain to recover evidence of a corrupt financier but things get much more complicated, much more quickly. You can read more of a preview of the episode here.
The Protector (Lifetime, 10pm) – “Spoon” – A young couple are found dead on the day they were supposed to go to jail for being the “Newlywed Bandits,” and Gloria (Ally Walker) unearths evidence that takes the case in a new direction from the assumed double suicide. Also, her son won’t stop texting some girl, and that worries the newly single mother.
Falling Skies (TNT, 10pm) – “Prisoner of War” – A doctor (guest star Steven Weber) comes to camp and we see a different side to Tom (Noah Wyle) because of their history and mystery surrounding the death of Tom’s wife. But they may have to put their differences aside if he truly does know how to safely remove harnesses from the kids. Meanwhile the Skitters cause even more problems for the soldiers.
