After they nearly divulged the truth about A during a group therapy session last week, our Pretty Little Liars were informed by their parents that they wouldn’t be able to spend time together for a while. When Season 2 Episode 2, The Goodbye Look debuts Tuesday, June 21 at 8/7c, look for The Liars to turn to others for comfort and companionship.
Hanna (Ashley Benson) and her Mom, Ashley (Laura Leighton) get a surprise visit from Hanna‘s father, Tom Marin(Roark Critchlow) after he learns about Hanna‘s recent troubles at the Bell Tower. It’s been a while since dear ole Dad has been in Rosewood. The last time Critchlow appeared on PLL was last season when he dropped the bomb that he not only had a new fiancee, but that she also had a teenage daughter. Looks like Tom and his new ready-made family might be moving further away from Rosewood, thus leaving Ashley to deal with Hanna on her own once and for all.
Not even the school cafeteria is a safe place for the girls to catch up. When they decide to sit at separate tables during lunch, Hanna leaves the lunchroom just as A sends a text that reads “Look at you, all alone in the crowd. I win. xoxo A”. Separate dining arrangements is probably a good thing, considering Aria‘s (Lucy Hale) Mom, Ella (Holly Marie Combs) is one of the teachers.
On the subject of Aria‘s favorite teachers, Ezra (Ian Harding) says goodbye to his students as he prepares to move on to his college teaching job, but Aria isn’t quite willing to listen, thinking his new job will take him away from her. Look for her to enroll in an adjunct pottery class at Ezra’s new college, but don’t be surprised if she’s not the only Rosewood High student keeping tabs on Ezra while getting their hands messy in some clay. Rumor has it Jenna Marshall (Tammin Sursok) will also sign up for class.
Spencer (Troian Bellisario) and sister Melissa (Torrey DeVitto) seem to be growing closer, considering they both feel alone, what with Ian (Ryan Merriman) missing andSpencer not allowed to see The Liars. In reality, The Liars have discovered that Ian has been textingMelissa, so Spencer snags his phone in an attempt to draw him out. When Melissa returns home following a doctor’s appointment in which she learns the baby is doing well, the sisters momentarily put aside their differences.
Elsewhere, Toby (Keegan Allen) tells Spencer his latest plan to free himself from his family’s hold on him. He also discourages her from going to the cops about the latest info indicating that Ian is alive and texting.
Emily is approached by a college swim coach and she sees their interest as a way to stay near Rosewood and her friends despite her parent’s intentions to move the family to Texas.
Having made a surprising returned to Rosewood High last week, Noel (Brant Daugherty) andMona (Janel Parrish) continue their budding relationship. Now that Hanna knows Mona and Noel are a couple, not to mention the fact that Mona purposefully kept Caleb‘s (Tyler Blackburn) letter from her, will she still turn to Mona for friendship?
Alison DiLaurentis (Sasha Pieterse) is back in yet another revealing flashback, but she’s not the only DiLaurentis sibling giving the girls grief. Look for Alison‘s brother Jason (now being played by Drew Van Acker) to show up near the end of tonight’s episode.
