The Anti-Cruelty Society is Chicago’s oldest and largest private animal welfare organization. The society helps aid 50,000 pets and families annually.
The Anti-Cruelty Society is competing nationwide with 100 other charities for donations ranging from $20,000 to $500,000 with this Chase program. Chase has already donated $10 million to nationwide charities utilizing social media networks.
For the first round of this Chase program, the Chase Community Giving program benefitted 501(c)3 charities that operate with annual expenses between $1 and $10 million by giving the $25,000. During Round 2, the same charities that receive the most votes will be eligible to receive $500,000. The remaining 24 top charities can earn between $20,000 and $400,000. The organizations with the top votes are eligible to receive more than $5 million this spring.
The Anti-Cruelty Society is fortunate enough to have reached the second round of the challenge. If lucky enough to go on, the “Big Idea” that has been established by the Anti-Cruelty Society is to allow us to continue to rescue more than 3,000 animals annually from abusive situations.
If they win, they could replace their old vehicles that are failing miserably. They could outfit the vehicles with necessary cages and provide them with a year of operational support to cover the society’s investigative staff with the necessary vehicle maintenance and fuel. Without vehicles, the thousands of annual rescues of abused animals could not take place.
Another 100 charities across the U.S. will be competing with the Anti-Cruelty Society for this award from Chase. Just consider all of the advancements and changes that could occur if all of us got together and simply voted for the Anti-Cruelty Society. The changes that could be made with the winnings could be immense.
