Put on the purple and lace up the sneakers, it’s time to celebrate, remember and fight back! Come rain or come shine, The American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life is preparing for a diligent return in your area. We don’t always take into account the most important factor to our very being; our overall state of health. Life gets busy and before we know it, we often get sidetracked, leaving no time for the gym, the walk, the bike ride with the children or grandchildren or even just that quiet relaxing evening watching the sunset. Picture this, the inability to not have the vigor to roll over and hit that snooze, toss down those covers, rise to your feet and head out the door for another day’s duty in our busy and hectic world. The once vibrant you or someone you love has suddenly acquired an illness. Do we really ever stop to think about how overall powerful we are as human beings until that force is taken away? This is no vacation it is Cancer, it is a disease that can pilfer your get-up-and-go in a matter of instance and leave a life and one’s family in disparities. Statistics state that during a lifetime, one third of all women and half of all men will develop cancer. That is a figure too large to accept without contest.
Get into a new rhythm by joining participants, survivors, “TEAMS” and spectators who gather in celebration of those who have survived their battle with cancer as well as remember those who have lost their battle and together conscientiously fight back against this disease.
