This is probably one of my all time favorite fireworks show in the Dallas-Fort Worth area because it’s in Addison. On Sunday, July 3 starting from 5 PM to Midnight – Addison is booming with Kaboomtown at Addison Circle Park. Free admission to watch the fireworks and the after party.
Rated one of the top places to watch fireworks in the country by the American Pyrotechnics Association, USA Today, Travel + Leisure and The Wall Street Journal, the nationally-recognized fireworks show can be seen from anywhere in Addison, including the Addison Circle Park watching party, many of Addison’s 170 restaurants, 22 hotels and more. That’s precisely why this is one of my favorite places to watch fireworks; you always have a good view.
The dazzling 30-minute fireworks show presented by Time Warner Cableis choreographed to music and a live radio simulcast on 100.3 JACK FM. Plus there is great food, live music on the Dos Equis Stage and the spectacular Addison Airport Air Show featuring the Cavanaugh Flight Museum Warbird Flyover.
The only thing that was a drawback was the traffic congestion right after the fireworks on the Dallas North Tollway. This year, you don’t have to leave. Stay for the Addison KaboomTown! After Party presented by Green Mountain Energy featuring Emerald City on the Dos Equis Stage at 10:15 pm! Best part is this event is FREE!
Emerald City is one of my favorite local bands and I’m glad they are going to be performing at the after party.
“Addison Circle Park is a great place to celebrate Independence Day and watch the KaboomTown! fireworks,” explains Barbara Kovacevich, Addison’s Director of Special Events. “Rather than trying to negotiate the traffic immediately following the fireworks, we’re hosting a great party so that our guests can bypass traffic challenges and continue their celebration.”
This year, Emerald City, presented by Green Mountain Energy, will headline the spectacular party, and will begin their set at 10:15 on the Dos Equis Main Stage, immediately following the KaboomTown! fireworks. Vendors will remain open at the park until 11:30 p.m., so guests can have food and beverage, although picnics are also allowed.
The Fireworks will begin at 9:35 PM with a musical simulcast on Jack FM 100.3. The show will last for a full 30 minutes and as mentioned earlier is ranked one of the best fireworks show.
Addison Circle Park has always been a destination for viewers, and the party at the park begins this year at 5 p.m. In addition to live music on the Dos Equis Main Stage, including the Dallas Wind Symphony, guests can enjoy a Family Fun Zone featuring fun picnic games presented by This Side Up Family Fun Center, bounce houses, laser tag, bubble runners and more. Then, at 7 p.m., the skies will be alive with the Addison Airport Air Show featuring the Cavanaugh Historic Warbird Flyover. During the flyover, dozens of warplanes ranging from WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam to modern warplanes will maneuver both singulary and in formation. Plus, guests will enjoy stunt acrobatic acts from air show favorites including Jan Collmer, Matt Younkin & Mike Galloway. At 9 p.m., as the sky goes dark, guests will enjoy “Magic by Moonlight”Matt Younkin’saerial acrobatics show with fantastic light effects.

Health and Safety Tips
You are encouraged to bring your own picnic baskets and with temperatures hitting 100 degrees even after 6 PM, the temperatures are still hot and if you are in a crowd of people it can feel even warmer. Just remember for your picnics, have plenty of ice to keep things chilled and try to pack non-perishable items to prevent spoilage.
The other important tip is to stay hydrated. Read my article about staying hydrated and how much water you should be drinking so that you don’t suffer from dehydration. I also profile some great products such as personal misters and cooling fans that you can use to keep cool over on my blog. Reminder for all of you that may drink alcohol at some of the Addison bars and restaurants, alcohol dehydrates you so please ensure you are properly hydrated and also don’t drive drunk. Remember to PASS – TX DOT’s Person Appointed to Stay Sober program. So appoint a designated driver and don’t drive drunk.
