Miss Culver City Noelle Freeman was crowned Miss California 2011 on Saturday night, according to the Miss America Organization.
Noelle ran on the platform, “A Promising Future for Autism.”
Her talent is Ballet en Pointe.
She will represent California at the Miss America 2012 pageant, next January in Las Vegas.
Noelle is a resident of Carlsbad who attends Chapman University, according to the California pageant. Her ambition is to start her own advertising agency.
Others in the top four, according to the Miss California Organization, are:
- Miss Garden Grove Leah Cecil, first runner-up
- Miss Hollywood Saundra Combs, second runner-up;
- Miss National Orange Show Ninshi Munshi, third runner-up; and
- Miss South Coast Sharanya Mukhopadhyay, fourth runner-up.
Noelle was crowned by outgoing Miss California 2010 Arianna Afsar.
Arianna is a former American Idol contestant who reigned as Miss San Diego County before being crowned Miss California.
Arianna had also served as Miss California’s Outstanding Teen, placing as first runner-up at the 2005 America’s Outstanding Teen pageant.
Eight of the past 10 Miss Californias have placed in the top 10 at the Miss America pageant.
The last Californian to win the national crown was Miss America 1982 Debra Maffett of Anaheim.
