Anything to raise awareness of Celiac Disease is a good thing. The national restaurant chain Olive Garden has done just that by offering a gluten-free menu. Check it out online! There are several Twin Cities locations to choose from, and because of the chain’s presence nationwide, it also makes it carefree for Celiacs to dine out when traveling across the United States.
Sure Olive Garden doesn’t have the most authentic Italian food around, but they do a decent job and actually have a pretty good wine list. The unlimited salad is great and by ordering the croutons on the side, the entire table, Celiacs and non-Celiacs alike, can enjoy. Freshly grated Parmesan cheese really perks up the salad and the otherwise plain Italian entrees.
When eating out with friends and relatives, a national chain can be a safe restaurant choice and now that Olive Garden understands Celiac disease, a Celiac can take comfort in dining there. The more restaurants that offer gluten-free choices, the more other restaurants will take note and follow suit! Often it takes a national chain to get everyone talking, so thanks Olive Garden!
