Yes, to be human is to understand consequences.
Moral Causality has this rule; Happiness is the ultimate goal of all rational beings.
Now, you may ask, what does Happiness mean?Unfortunately, what you think makes you happy is an illusion. This illusion was created by those who want to exploit you. For they want you to think that Happiness is the result of the amount of physical pleasure you receive. This is not so.
Happiness is a state of mind, measured by the degree of personal mental conflict. To be happy, you have to judge and evaluate your actions, in the way it would affect others. Happiness is the result of personal behavior and how your actions will be judged, not by others, but by your own internal moral code of conduct.
This is where we define causality. All actions will “cause” certain reactions from other rational beings. This is the point. When you act, you are anticipating that this action will result in a certain type of response. This response is from those the action directly affects.
However, mentally, you are asking the question; ” What if I were on the receiving end of this action. Would I find it to be a positive experience, or would it affect me in a negative manner.”
This is Moral Causality in its’ purest form. When you act in a way that causes others to experience an event that is mentally or physically unpleasent, you are creating conflict within your own psyche. You realize that you have created a situation that if the tables were turned, you would not want to be on the receiving end.
To conclude; Happiness is a state that can be achieved, to different degrees. When we behave or act in a manner that is contrary to our own sense of right or wrong, we not only hurt others, but ourselves as well.
