Maroon 5’s Adam Levine was the last of the four musician coaches to complete his team on NBC’s The Voice. At the beginning of the Blind Auditions, Adam was often quick to hit his button, wanting singers to be on his team. Adam and Cee lo often pursued the same singers, with Adam being the last of the coaches to gain his first team member. As Adam ramped up his sales pitch, a rivalry began to develop between he and Christina Aguilera.
As the auditions went on, the coaches, Adam Levine, Cee lo Green, Christina Aguilera and Blake Shelton, became more discriminating with their choices, which led to a problem when the show ran out of contestants to auditon with only Cee lo having a full team. After the commercial break, Carson Daly announced that some of the contestants that hadn’t been chosen would be given a second chance. A second listen gave Casey Weston and Angela Wolff a chance to make Adam Levine’s team.
Jeff Jenkins (22, Jones Creek, TX; Bless the Broken Road, Rascal Flatts) – With all the coaches turning around, Adam had to use all his powers of persuasion to gain his first team member.
Rebecca Loebe (27, Atlanta, GA; Come As You Are, Nirvana) – Going head to head, the battle between Adam and Christina’s begins.
Javier Colon (33, Stratford, CT; Time After Time, Cyndi Lauper) – Adam was so impressed with Javier, he encouraged Blake to turn around as the last hold out of the four coaches. Then, Adam made a desperate plea that gained him a bleep from the censors but got him his man.
Devon Barley (19, Mattapoisett, MA; I’m Yours, Jason Mraz) – Adam had to take on Cee lo but he won seeing definite potential in Devon’s voice.
Tim Mahoney (39, Minneapolis, MI; Bring It On Home To Me, Sam Cooke) – Looking for more female team members, Adam made a quick decision mistakenly taking Tim for a “chick”.
Casey Desmond (24, Boston, MA; Born This Way, Lady Gaga) – It didn’t take long for Adam to make up his mind about Casey, hitting his button after only a few lines of the song.
Casey Weston (18, Naples, FL; The Climb, Miley Cyrus and Stupid Boy, Keith Urban) – Making her second attempt at auditioning, Casey got Adam’s attention.
Angela Wolff (25, Metter, GA; The House That Built Me, Miranda Lambert and Rolling in the Deep, Adele) – Adam thought Angela was great in her first audition but held back since he didn’t have many slots on his team left. The second time around, he went with her to complete his team.
