The Pro-Walker 400-DLX is a lightweight, plastic and aluminum, collapsible and inexpensive golf pull/push cart that is available at Target stores (online or in-person) in Chicago. (Golfers should check the Yellow Pages to find the nearest store.) This pull/push cart appears under the Golf Digest name.
This cart has several, nifty features that will allow it to fit in golf bags (only the largest ones). When folded with the wheels attached, this cart measures 18” (width at wheelbase), 14” (depth at bottom, bag platform folded) and 33” length. Extended and ready for golfers to use, this cart’s, wheelbase width becomes 29”; the bottom depth becomes 28” (bag platform extended), and the cart’s length becomes 57”.
Beginning at the top, this unit has a downward folding handle that locks in the extended position by sliding a sleeve (in the midsection). As golfers fold the handle downward, struts and brackets draw the two wheels inward. Golfers can disassemble the handle’s grip by removing two bolts and two nuts; however, unless they are storing it for the winter, I suggest they leave the grip attached.
Near the handle’s top is a plastic accessory module that measures 10” (l) x 5-1/2” (w) x 1-1/2” (d). On this module’s outside is a folding, plastic cover. The plastic clamp on this cover’s bottom will hold one pencil or one pen. Unlatching this cover and opening it upward allows golfers to place six tees in holders on the right side. In the center, using two, plastic clamps, golfers can attach a scorecard. At the bottom are two, golf ball holders. Whether the cover is open or closed, golfers can keep track of their strokes by using the score counter on the upper right edge. This counter will record up to nine strokes.
In this cart’s midsection, there is a flexible drink holder. In addition, a plastic bracket and fabric strap will securely hold golf bags’ centers. (To secure their bags. golfers will need to adjust the strap’s length and use the easy locking and unlocking plastic clamp.)
At this unit’s base, a plastic, bag platform folds outward enough to cover at least one-half the diameter of a golf bag’s bottom. Threaded through this platform and around the central, vertical brace, a strap allows golfers to hold securely the bottoms of their golf bags. This strap also has an easy locking and easy unlocking clamp.
The two, wheel brackets have push buttons that allow removal of the rubber and plastic wheels. The Golf Digest Pull/Push Cart weighs less than 10 pound, and would be a smart purchase at Target’s, current price–$37.09. In Chicagoland, this cart’s cost is less than the green fees for two, 18 holes, golf rounds.
