May 24, 2011: When Rielle Hunter looked at John Edwards and said, “You are so hot,” he came tumbling down. Now it seems that his love affair with Baby Momma was covered up using money that may have come from his campaign treasure chest, according to ABC News this morning. The story which went from scandalous to sad for his late wife Elizabeth Edwards is taking another unpleasant turn for Edwards. While politically it seems like parallel with Arnold Schwarzenegger, for John Edwards the consequences are far more serious than a love child and a mistress. He could be facing jail time.
ABC News Reported: Edwards has been the focus of a lengthy federal investigation focusing on hundreds of thousands of dollars allegedly provided by two wealthy supporters. The government will contend those were illegal donations that ultimately went to support and seclude his mistress, Rielle Hunter. [his videographer]. Hunter is the mother of his three year old daughter, Frances Quinn Hunter. More recently in the battle for the sex tape between Edwards and Hunter, he called her “an idiot” for not destroying it.
Painful liaison for Elizabeth Edwards
The liaison was so distressful to Elizabeth Edwards that she refused to even mention the woman’s name when she appeared on Oprah. In all other ways, she realistically approached the situation of her husband’s affair.
Despite the pain of the affair, Elizabeth Edwards courageously faced both illness and her husband’s infidelity. She even embraced her husband’s lovechild. In her final days, has left a legacy of forgiveness by her actions and gratitude in her words. This on her Facebook page as reported by Forbes:
The days of our lives, for all of us, are numbered,” she wrote. “We know that. And yes, there are certainly times when we aren’t able to muster as much strength and patience as we would like. It’s called being human. But I have found that in the simple act of living with hope, and in the daily effort to have a positive impact in the world, the days I do have are made all the more meaningful and precious. And for that I am grateful.” (Look Into Elizabeth Edwards‘ Facebook Post on Her Worsening Cancer Condition For more stories on Elizabeth Edwards, please go to my Examiner pages: Elizabeth Edwards says Goodbye; her final gifts)
