Wicked Jaw Breakers from Empire Brands
Value and Bass, a winning combo
It is always a bit “disconcerting” when you purchase a product, enjoy it, but the included ear plugs sound “tinny.” Usually, but not always, the plugs enclosed with some devices are not as well considered as the products that they are paired. From past experience great devices are not always married to great ear plugs.
And then there is always the “damage” factor. In normal use, earplugs are not usually suspectable to extensive damage, but they do wear out from time to time. At some point in the ownership of earplugs, you may find yourself in need of a new set.
Small, and looking not too dramatically different from the competition, it is when you actually use them that you hear the big difference. Wicked Brands Wicked Jaw Breakers are proof that not all earbuds are created equally.
With a frequency range of 20 to 20,000 Hz, impedance of 16 ohm and including gold plating on the connections, this just provides a hint of what these miniature marvels can do. Discerning is in the listening, and the difference is marked.
The most noticeable, and the most alarming, is the difference. Jawbreakers warn you that they pack a punch with the base. The advertisement is not a prideful boast. The bass is rich, nuanced and potent. However, the difference doesn’t stop there.
While the rich base is part of the selling point with the Jawbreaker line, the other factors that make this such a superior listening experience is that they did not drop the ball with clarity and fully realized mid tones.
Although these are not noise cancelling earplugs, they provide a truly positive experience. Compared to headphones that cost many times what these sell for, and you can find Jawbreakers in the $7 to $ 8.00 range online plus shipping and handling, which puts them at about $ 10.00 or so, they are an excellent value.
The sound quality is so strong that it is hard to believe that something this small can produce so rich and nuanced sound. The difference between the enclosed earbuds that came with the units I tested while good, simply did not provide the deeply felt base.
Certainly the bass is a major factor, but the ability to pick up the subtle sounds in music is what makes the experience rich. Here you get it all in a very decent package.
Coming in a variety of colors, green, white and of course black, there are also several sizes of covers to adjust to different ear sizes, which is great since one size never fits all.
The only downside here is that there is no enclosed case for the earbuds, but this is a minor grip. At prices like these earbuds are a screaming deal. With sound that rivals higher priced competition and clarity that is to be envied, if you are looking for a high quality earplug at at rock bottom price points, the destination is definitely Empire Brand’s Wicked Jaw Breakers. Thankfully, they do not break the bank.
