CHICAGO FILM FESTIVAL: OCT. 6-20, 2011
This is one of the more elite festivals and there are several categories from which to choose. Regular entries should be postmarked by June 24. Late entries will be accepted until July 11 with the late fee included. Please visit the website for info, contact info, downloadable forms, etc. No film is accepted or rejected unless it’s entered. 5TH ANNUAL SOUTH DAKOTA FILM FESTIVAL: SEPT. 16-18
This is still a relatively new festival, close to the Twin Cities, with aspirations of becoming what Sundance was when they started. Namely, a chance for new filmmakers to have their work viewed by experts. Presentation includes guests, stars, panels and discussions. It’s held at the Capitol Theatre on Main St. in Aberdeen, S.D. Deadline: July 10.
