Tragedy has struck a horse breeder and competitor. The owner was a lifelong Arabian and Quarter Horse and competitor that recently passed away and left 23 horses behind. There were no provisions in case the owner passed and there are now 23 horses that is in great need of getting a new home. They are currently in Ocala, FL. The horses are currently in excellent health, as they were cared and loved for. The owners’ poor health has prohibited her from any training in the past few years and their manes, tails and hooves need some tender loving care. They are not in bad shape but just need a little extra right now.
All the horses are registered, but it would be best if these horses went to non-breeding homes where they can have a great life as a pet/companion. The horses must be relocated immediately. Permanent homes would be great but even foster homes would be appreciated. The foster homes would need to be for at least three months to be able to work on finding permanent homes and the foster would be responsible for feed and care. They are all being taken care of by the Horse Protection Association of Florida (HPAF). If you are not able to provide either a permanent or foster home but would still like to help, donations are being asked for by the HPAF. Donations are needed for fuel and feed as well as basic care and veterinary care. They are also asking for large bottles of Cowboy Magic for the horse’s manes and tails to detangle them. All interested adopter or fosters will need to fill out an application and will be asked to provide photos of where the horse will be living and also of your current horses if you should have any.
If interested in the horses from the slide show please contact at (352) 466-4366 for an appointment. In the latest update three of the horses were taken by Wellborn Quarter Horses. There will be a Buster McLaury Colt Starting on June 17-20 of which the three Quarter Horses will be taking part in. Potential adopters should attend the clinic to watch the horses starting out to make sure they are a best fit for you.
