Hines Ward and Chelsea Kane had near-perfect nights on the “Dancing with the Stars” season 12 finale (part one), each earning a 59 out of 60 after two final performances.

They always say the freestyle performance can make or break a team, and the best freestyle performance usually takes the trophy. But, this season things are completely up in the air since Hines and Chelsea both earned perfect scores for their freestyle performances, which were absolutely incredible. And with voting in progress, it’s officially out of their hands … although, they’re probably pretty happy about that.
Chelsea and Mark’s judges’ choice performance was the Samba. The performance was so upbeat and so fun; it was a fantastic way to start the night, and it really set the bar high for the final performances. Bruno called Chelsea a firecracker and said the rhythm was moving through her body like he’d never seen before, while Carrie Ann felt Chelsea was “hot, hot, hot!” The couple earned a 29.
Ashley Hebert says she felt pressure, nerves during first mixer as ‘The Bachelorette’
Kirstie and Maks’ judges’ choice performance was the Samba. Kirstie did very well technically, but I wished she had more energy during the performance. It seemed like she was really focused on the steps or counting. Bruno commented that Kirstie was still looking at the floor, although he loved how she floated across the floor. Len loved how natural the performance was but thought it could’ve been crisper. The couple earned a 27.
Hines and Kym’s judges’ choice was the Quick Step. The performance was sweet and sophisticated and overall enjoyable to watch. Len warned Hines he was going to focus on Hines’ footwork and searching for improvement, and unfortunately, it just didn’t happen for Len, who felt it wasn’t the redemption it should’ve/could’ve been. The performance did, however, work for Bruno and Carrie Ann, who both loved the way Hines glided across the floor. The couple earned a 29.
Chelsea and Mark’s freestyle performance was full of energy and features some very cool effects and very cool stunts. The performance was absolutely entertaining, although there were a few moments that appeared sloppy. The judges loved the performance, though. They loved how edgy it was and how creative and imaginative it was; even Len was excited about the performance! The couple earned a 30 (perfect score).
Jay and Irene hope for viewers’ votes to send them to ‘The Biggest Loser: Couples 4’ Final 3
Kirstie and Maks began their freestyle with a beautiful, sophisticated lift … and things just got better from there! The performance eventually broke out into a high-speed version of several dances. It was entertaining and full of life. There was an awkward Kirstie cartwheel that probably should’ve been avoided, but overall, it was an incredible way for Kirstie to end the season. Bruno loved the attempt at lifts, although he said they could’ve been smoother, and he loved the mix of beauty and sexy. The couple earned a 27.
Hines and Kym pulled out all the stops for their freestyle performance. You could tell watching their rehearsals that the performance was going to be huge, and it absolutely did not disappoint. It included band drummers and a balloon archway; although, those didn’t distract from the performance as much as one might think. There were some really fun moments, and the couple appeared to be having the time of their lives. Carrie Ann thought the lifts were insane, and Len felt the couple definitely gave it their all.
