Part 4 (Green Lantern #65)
Issue starts on Oa where Kilowog is in the presence of Krona. The towering Lantern has obviously been beaten. Krona asks why he isn’t affected, which Kilowog fails to explain. Krona digs into Kilowog’s thoughts and sees that he, Kyle, Hal, Guy, John and Ganthet were all possessed by Parallax before. Krona deduces that if a Lantern is given a ring in the presence of Parallax, then it won’t matter. Krona gives Kilowog a ring and he is put under Krona’s control.
In Sector 2000, Hal and Guy wander the frozen planet searching for something. The two stumble upon the Green House and the alien space ship it inhabits. They take off and head for Oa when they are intercepted by Kilowog. The Lantern attacks which causes the ship to dive-bomb. Hal and Guy escape through pods and the computers locate John and Kyle. When they land, their comrades are waiting for them. They swap information on what’s going on before Hal suggest they use the rings of the other corps to combat Krona. They each choose: Guy takes Red, Hal chooses Yellow, Kyle reluctantly picks Blue and John goes for Orange before Hal stops him and explains that it will overtake him. Hal suggests Indigo which John accepts. They put the rings on and prepare for battle.
“All right Krona…It’s time to beware our power.” – Hal Jordan
Part 5 (Green Lantern Corps #59)
Ganthet continues to fight off the other corps members on Oa but is becoming overwhelmed. The Earth Lanterns emerge on the surface of the planet as John tries to grasp his new powers. Suddenly, hundreds of Lanterns arrive and attack. Kyle’s blue ring charges all of the green rings. They fight off the Lanterns before fleeing to rescue Ganthet. The Guardian uses his immense willpower to dispatch of all the Lanterns around him just as the Earth Lanterns arrive. Ganthet is happy to see them at first, but quickly becomes worried when he sees their new rings. He says how compassion and hope are not the right choice for John or Kyle when more Lanterns show up. Ganthet tells Kyle to use his hope to reach the minds of the Green Lanterns when they quickly retreat. They all wonder why when a huge green beam descends on them. They five look up to see Mogo, the living planet, on Krona’s side.
“Aw, no…Mogo. They got to Mogo, too.” – John Stewart
Part 6 (Green Lantern: Emerald Warriors #9)
With Mogo raining beams of will down on our heroes, Ganthet is restrained by the other Lanterns. They abandon the Guardian when Hal gets an idea to go underground. The four Lanterns regroup and think of their next plan of attack. Hal suggests they get Parallax out of the Central Power Battery while John thinks freeing Mogo is top priority. They put it to a vote which swings 3-1 in favor of the Battery plan. So the four start to dig towards the battery.
They eventually reach a lab with different inventions and experiments. After some snooping, they find Krona’s power gauntlet. All of a sudden an alien breaks through the wall and attacks the four to protect the ancient weapon. However, Kyle tells them to show it no fear which calms the beast down. The alien is Shedd, loyal servant to the Green Lantern Corps. He turns the computers on for them as he departs. The Lanterns look over the data in the computer to see Krona is using Mogo to release new rings to unsuspecting recruits to bolster his army. John decides that Mogo is more important than the Central Power Battery. Hal tries to convince him that Parallax is the way to go but he disagrees. Kyle decides to go with John as the two of them teleport away. Guy and Hal continue through towards the battery when they finally reach it. They attempt to bust it open but they are intercepted by the possessed Guardians.
“All right, Jordo, Let’s get in there and drag Parallax’s bony ass outta our battery so we can take back our damn corps.” -Guy Gardner
