Although she has been one of the three people to routinely give uneven criticisms on “American Idol” this season, the bigwigs over at Fox are still holding out hope that Jennifer Lopez will in fact return for another season of the hit reality show.
At the network’s presentation on Monday, Peter Rice from the network addressed the contract situation for the singer simply by saying that nothing is set in stone just yet:
“Everyone has multiple year contracts; Jennifer had single year contract, we loved having her, the hope and expectation is she’ll return.”
There are a number of key components that could end up messing with the show’s plan, including another TV project Lopez is working on along with her personal hopes to embark on some form of tour this summer. Typically, “Idol” judges have to present to hear auditions beginning in late September.
