You may have already heard of them or seen them in the news. Kangoo Jumps have been featured in pieces such as Lori Corbin’s “Kangoo’s will bounce you into shape” on abc7.com (KABC-TV LOS ANGELES, CA). Robert De La Riva, a Kangoo instructor whom she interviewed reports that they have an almost 4” wide base and weight approximately 3.4lbs.
Kangoo Jumps reduce the impact by up to 80%. They provide the very best protection to your ankles, knees, hips lower back & spine. This was reported on three scientific studies, one being of Jason Vance and John A. Mercer at the University of Nevada. Also cited are studies by NASA which claim that rebound exercise is the “most efficient, effective and pleasant exercise ever devised.” Kangoo Jumps can be used for Running and jogging, home fitness, weight loss, rebound exercise, athletic training, medical applications, injury rehabilitation and Physical Education!
While it looks a little crazy at first, it has even been reviewed by Ace Fitness, a national Group Exercise instructor and Personal Trainer certification agency, which gave it 4 out of 5 stars. You don’t need to find a class to use them. You can use them at home or on a run. While the price of the Kangoo Jumps is a bit high, they are marketed as having a long life span, with regular maintenance as all sporting shoes (rollerblades, hockey skates, etc.) You can also rent them from studios that teach using them.
One Bay Area studio that is offering this class format is San Ramon Valley Fitness. Cori Ann Lentz(owner of SRVF and creator of Bad Kitty) is a local instructor of Kangoo.
