There have been few times in the history of this nation that the performance on current jobs and future jobs, must be near excellent. In Tampa the work ethic is relatively high in standard compared to some cities in Florida where there is carelessness in quality production and service.
There are some elements of the work environment that begs for improvement in some municipalities.
You will understand the quality of work whenever you need assistance with service or a product from a company. Out of 24 employees, 4, will know what they are doing and the remainder are running around looking for those 4 if you visit in person. Place a call over the telephone, you maybe on hold for 30 minutes or asked to call back the next day by an automated system. This is true in both the private sector and public.
Many times favoritism and buddy systems exist that dampen the morale of otherwise quality workers. Whatever reason for the laziness and “above you attitude” there is a deterioration of Amercian quality products and services. This effects the competitiveness of America on a global scale.
Living in a rich culture promotes a false sense of perspicacity or keenness of mental perception. A worker may take on a sense he knows it all and therefore is above work. If not in a supervisory or managerial position, he or she actually becomes a liability.
If there is pride in the performance of a task for the individual, integrity and character is built. If there are only positions available to an individual be it due to their sex, race or whatever, that are not spiritually rewarding as well as financial, there will be degradation in the work environnment. Jobs are key to an economy, but adequately trained minds are even better.
To create thousands of jobs cutting tall grass will put people to work, but how long can they endure it. Train the people to produce tall grass cutting machines and they may endure that longer. Let us not rush to solutions for solution sake, but ascertain or make certain the best solution is in place for a people that will rise to the challenge and be recognized by “job well done.”
We cannot be unrealistic and think a disastrous economic situation is resolved overnight, there will be times when the energy is low, but you must push forward.
Many Americans have a pride of being Americans as long as things are going well. There must be a sense of urgency to keep it moving. Some Americans have never had much materially yet still find a way to live a life of dignity. When hard times come, they are not jumping out of high rise windows or screaming through the streets, they just live in hope as usual.
Then there are many who blame the entire collapse of a 30 year faltering system on the current president, they live more so in an illusion than reality. It’s actually, all about your belief system.
The Bush administration couldn’t wait to get out office and pass the financial disorder to the next person in line, President Obama. President Bush stood around like Nero while the economy tanked from the cost of two wars, housing market collapse, credit being reigned in, stock market nose dive to 6,000 points on Dow Jones, Lehman Brothers failure, buy out of Merrill Lynch, Washington Mutual, 3 million jobs lossed to unemployment, Circuit City failure, GM and Chrysler (received federal loans to survive), American Freedom Mortgage and hundreds or thousands of bank closures occurred between Dec.2007 and Sept. 2008. Bush stood shrugging his shoulders and saying “huh, yeah i did it, what you gonna do about it?” His actual words were, ” I’m not an economist,”………but, ” the fundamentals of our economy are strong.” In other words, what are you going to do about it, if i say it’s strong and it’s not. We will take it out on Obama that’s what we will do, yeah, that makes sense are the words from many too shocked to grasp such a failure had occurred before their eyes. That’s the mentality of many who refuse to see or speak the truth of why the economy is in the shape it is.
President Bush flew off in his helicopter knowing when he was sober, he had stood by and allowed our financial system wreck the unsuspecting world, literally sent the globe in an economic downward spiral. You won’t see him that much, but that doesn’t matter now.
Now is the time to re-invent the spirit of the American people that will know they can look back and say job well done or will some continue to point fingers at President Obama to ease the pain.
