Well folks, we have finally reached the end. 10 weeks later and “Dancing with the Stars” has crowned a new champion. Did Hines and Chelsea’s scores get them the mirror ball? Or did Kirstie’s fan base make up for not getting a perfect 30? Read on to find out.
This was a two hour show, so naturally we had to sit through a bunch of recaps, thoughts from the contestants, thoughts from the judges, and a return of all our favorite dancers. Rather than go through each one, I’ll mark through what I felt were some of the highlights:
What Mike Catherwood lacks in dance ability, he sure makes up for in humor and self-deprecation. To be honest, he actually made that unitard work. Agree or disagree?
I love Wendy, but didn’t her segment feel a bit weird. Or was that the intention?
I just loved Jericho vs. Sugar Ray. Wouldn’t that make an awesome pay per view?
Maks as a cop for the Macy’s Design a Dance? I wonder how many fans planned how they would get arrested?
Romeo gets the perfect song dedicated to all the children out there, complete with a children’s choir.
Was it me, or did the perfect scores for the final dances seem a bit perfunctory? Well, except for Kirstie’s, only because she deserved that 30 yesterday.
Loved the Sara Evans song, especially with the clips of the finalists playing in the background. I’ve grown a bit tired of the Black Eyed Peas (and the Tron like lighting) but I have to admit this one was decent.
3rd Place – An emotional Chelsea Kane and Mark Ballas
2nd Place – Kirstie Alley and Maks Chmerkovskiy, totally deserving
1st and the Winner – Hines Ward and Kym Johnson, the perfect champion
Though it felt a bit anti-climactic after the winner was announced, it was still intense, since it really seemed like Kirstie almost had it. I would have been happy with either, but honestly, I was routing for Hines and Kym. They had the perfect amount of chemistry and talent, which showed week after week. Congratulations Hines and Kym. You totally rocked.
Did the right person win?
