The MLS season is a war, each match a battle.
The Colorado Rapids have had a rough start to this war. Many of their own have been injured or forced to sit on the sidelines due to suspension. The able players have stayed strong, and earned a record of 5-4-7.
In the past two months, the remaining squad obtained points from almost every match played; until last week. It was a devastating home loss to L.A. Galaxy, where it was obvious that the Rapids, after weeks of fighting hard, bringing home points, were starting to retreat.
But the reinforcements have arrived.
Brian Mullan, veteran midfielder is returning after ten weeks of suspension. Another crucial leader, Jamie Smith, has nursed his injury and appears ready to play. Marvell Wynne, the speed of the defensive wall is prepared to start. The offensive weapon of the Rapids, Omar Cummings and Conor Casey, are set to start together for the first time in months.
This breath of renewed life will make the Rapids a dangerous foe as they play Columbus Crew tonight, at 6:00pm. Make plans now to attend a viewing party or watch on Altitude TV.
