School supply list
For the fourth consecutive year, the Cumberland Presbyterian church in Burns Flat will assist needy children with school supplies. This year the goal is to help all of those enrolled at the Will Rogers Elementary School who need it.
How will the parents know about this?
Though it is hard to believe, not everyone reads the Burns Flat Examiner; therefore the Cumberland Presbyterian Church will provide this message to all parents enrolling at Will Rogers Elementary this week.
Be Blessed. Be a Blessing!
This note is for those who need help with school supplies and for those who can give help.
The Cumberland Presbyterian Church invites parents of children who are enrolled in Will Rogers Elementary School and are in need of help with school supplies to come to the church at 205 State Highway 44 in Burns Flat, Oklahoma for help.
From 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Monday, 8 August 2011 we will give out backpacks filled with supplies to those who need them. Parents must accompany their children. We hope by distributing these supplies before the first day of school, no child will be ridiculed or singled out by any other student for having less than the others.
This is an ominous undertaking and one that can only be accomplished with God’s help. That help most often comes from people who are blessed to be able to afford not only school supplies but items beyond basic necessities. If this is you, please consider making a donation to this ministry.
The average cost of a backpack filled with the appropriate supplies is about $45. Please consider blessing another child with a monetary donation or a donation in kind. Checks may be payable to: Cumberland Presbyterian Church and mailed to CPC, Box 8, Burns Flat OK 73624. Please note Backpack Ministry in the “for” section of your check.
Monetary donations and donations in kind may be delivered to the Cumberland Presbyterian Church at 205 State Highway 44 in Burns Flat (just north and east of the traffic light). There is an afterhours drop outside the front door for supplies (no cash or checks in the drop please).
We would like to collect most of the donations by Friday, 5 August 2011 but can accept donations up to the last minute if needed.
We pray that those who need will come and not be ashamed for it is our joy to show God’s love for you in this way.
We pray also that if you have been blessed with enough to meet your needs, you will bless others who are less fortunate.
