Chris Harrison blogs about ABC’s ‘The Bachelorette’ 2011 episode 4

There may have been nobody more thrilled to move on from the Bentley Williams drama on Season 7 of ABC’s The Bachelorette than show host Chris Harrison. In his new blog, Chris talks about Ashley Hebert, moving on from Bentley, and heading to Phuket, Thailand. While he has shared that Bentley will return next week, Chris says that the timing was perfect for traveling in this week’s episode and it was a great week in most respects.

Harrison shares that The Bachelor and The Bachelorette shows have made a genuine effort in the past few seasons to not only embrace the beauty in the exotic locations they visit, but to also make a difference. He says that the group date at the Baan San Fan orphanage was moving and incredible. He hopes that fans will take the time to learn more about the place and help if they can. Chris says that the date at the orphanage is where Ashley really began to discover Ben F. The date with Ames was also pivotal, as he says that going into the date Ashley really didn’t expect to be giving him a rose. Instead, Ashley was fascinated by Ames and by the end of the date she didn’t hesitate to give him the rose.

Many fans wonder what Chris does during his time on these exotic locations. Apparently in Thailand, he spent the evening playing poker with the The Bachelorette guys! While Ashley and Ames were on their date, Chris stopped by the villa and ended up in an all night poker game. At the end of the week, when Chris had the opportunity to sit down and talk with Ashley, he could tell she was still struggling. He knows that she was enjoying her time with the guys and making an effort, but her heart and mind were still with Bentley.

During their talk, Ashley said she needed another rose for the ceremony because she needed to keep one more guy than planned. Chris shares that normally he’d have put up a bit of a fight on that, but he knew it was what Ashley needed. The heartbreak over Bentley and the surprise and confusion over the unexpectedly good date with Ames left her emotionally confused. Chris assured her that she was in control of the journey, even though it will definitely get even more difficult to let guys go in the coming episodes of this season’s The Bachelorette.

Next week the group heads to another area of Thailand, Chiang Mai. Harrison shares that Ashley is in a very dark place and it is her lowest point in the season. Yes, Bentley Williams returns next week. Will his return give Ashley the closure she needed so she can move on to find love? Or will Bentley mess with Ashley’s head more and keep her from embracing the potential for love with the bachelors who remain?

The Bachelorette episodes can be seen every Monday night at 7 p.m. on Channel 15 in the Scottsdale area. You can also watch The Bachelorette online at ABC.com the day after the show airs.
