Seven years ago, Executive Chef Kristoffer Davis decided to change his life and go to culinary school. Remembering our first day, he was quiet and yet nervous as everyone else in the class because no one knew what to expect . All that was known was the fact there was a love for cooking and Le Cordon Bleu was giving the tools for everyone to succeed. He was hard working in school. Having moved to Atlanta from, Kristoffer expressed to many that he always loved to cook for his family and friends. He owned a small landscaping company but knew that he wanted to do more with himself. Life had not been easy but he knew that if he stuck to his plan everything would work out and he will reach his culinary goals in life.
Seven years later, Kristoffer has starting his own catering company called Kristoffer’s Katering as well as becoming the executive chef at Café Circa and Reserve after being the Sous Chef for a year. Café Circa is located in Edgewood, downtown Atlanta near the King Memorial Center. There are 2 levels to the restaurant. The roof top has a cigar area where you can order small plates with a fully stocked bar. The bottom level provides an intimate feeling with deem lighting and soft music playing. The bottom level also has a fully stocked bar. This would be the perfect place for date night or just hanging out with friends. The food is Caribbean and Latin infused with favorites like CIRCA’S WORLD FAMOUS GUAVA JERKED WINGS and baked lobster with mango butter bread crumbs. There are small and large plates offered on the menu. The menu comes on a clip board with the first page being the house rules which are to the point but very amusing.
When asked about the culinary point of view of himself and Café Circa, Kristoffer responded that he tries to please every customer that comes in. He makes sure that the plates are 5 star and most important is that the food is consistent. Krisoffer expressed that he loves cooking because it is what gets family and friends together. It even unites strangers. He enjoys providing people with that excellent feeling of warmth and love that you receive after a good meal. Kristoffer also wanted everyone to know that if you dream big, no matter where you come from, your dreams will come true. You just have to work towards your goals. Kristoffer has always been hard working. Having been his partner in culinary school, we both use tried our best to be the best. We always shoot for the stars. He will always continue to do so.
