Lynea Lattanzio loves cats, so much so that she began a cat sanctuary 19 years ago in Parlier, California, at her residence on Kings River Road. Of course, her love of animals extends to dogs, and goats, too. All these remarkable creatures live in harmony at Cat House on the Kings where they are all available for adoption, but if no adoptive pet parents present themselves, all the dogs, cats, and goats have a forever home with Lattanzio.
I shared the story of my recent loss (Hit and Run Laws Fail to Render Aid to Animals – Losing Gigi) with Lynea via correspondence, figuring that ‘cat ladies’ understand the pain of losing a beloved pet. Lattanzio replied “Your story is very sad, and brings back memories I have from the 1970’s. I lost two very special pets to the road several acres away from my home. If I had not left fliers on every doorstep I would have wondered what happened to them forever. Now all of our animals adopted are micro chipped. This is definitely worthwhile.”
She recommended cat fencing installation which is a great idea for pet parents with curious kitties.
This amazing lady and her cat sanctuary will be featured tonight on the Nat Geo channel at 10:00 p.m. Eastern time and 7:00 and 10:00 PT. This premier documentary has the possibility of becoming a series that would benefit every animal lucky enough to find itself on the steps of Cat House on the Kings.
Lattanzio adds “If you like what you see please contact Nat Geo Wild.com and say so. If we get enough positive response we may get a series! Yippee! We sure could use the exposure.”
