The ninth day of the trial of Casey Anthony, the 25-year-old woman who was accused of killing her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee Anthony, continues on this Friday, June 3, 2011. The jurors in the courtroom watched additional video recordings of when George and Cindy Anthony, Casey Anthony’s parents, visited her at the Orange County jail in Orlando on June 30, 2008, according to MSNBC.
The video contradicts the defense’s statement that George Anthony sexually abused his daughter, Casey Anthony, as a child, and that they had a strained relationship.
According to TBO, in the tape recordings, Casey Anthony not only tells her parents that her “heart is aching” because she wanted to be home with them and Caylee Anthony, her 2-year-old daughter she is being accused of murdering, but that she loved her father very much. Casey Anthony stated,
“Dad, you are the best father ever.”
The defense still holds to the story that Caylee Anthony accidentally drowned in the family pool and that George Anthony found her, unaware of the cover-up, according to TBO; however, in the recordings, Casey Anthony says nothing about Caylee drowning. She also insists that they will find her daughter.
TBO reported that Casey Anthony said on the tape,
“I can feel it. I know she’s still OK. We’re going to get our little girl back. — I’m going to be the crazy, overprotective mom. I won’t let her out of my sight. — You are doing a great job, Mom. I know it’s hard. I know better than anyone right now. You are doing so great. — She’s not just my little girl. I mean she’s my baby, but she will always be your baby and Dad’s baby and (brother) Lee’s baby.”
Another recording from August 3rd was shown to the jury as well. This tape only involved Casey Anthony and her father George Anthony. George Anthony stated on the tape,
“We want Caylee back. All of us have joined a life club. A club of missing children.”
Casey Anthony stated,
“You know how much I love you. You’ll always be my buddy, besides my dad.”
