Iniquity: gross injustice or a violation of right and duty.
There was plenty of iniquity flying about in what was suppose to be a news conference yesterday explaining why Camping’s judgment day and rapture failed on May 21st last weekend.
Do the terms “backtracking”, “tap-dancing”, “reversing direction”, or “creative communication” mean anything to anybody?
Camping spun the “spiritual rapture” which he said did take place on May 21st…so he is right according to his standards. He then adjusted the October 21st of this year for the “physical rapture” on his Open Forum radio program. Yes, oh no not again!!http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/may/24/rapture-october-harold-camping-apocalypse
Does Camping know that “God does not change” and that “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever”? Not according to Camping’s logic.http://www.nytimes.com/2011/05/24/us/24raptureweb.html
According to a story filed by Sean Maher of the San Jose Mercury, Family Radio Spokesman Tom Evans called on reporters to “take responsibility” for what they say and how “you twist Camping’s words”. This is a curious standard to expect secular reporters to do when Family Radio personnel have failed to take accountability for their ongoing false statements.
The response from Camping regarding people facing financial hardship for giving heed to his words of doom that never happened was this, “People cope”. What was that question about accountability?
Repentance, compassion and accountability are foreign words to Camping and his followers. They make excuses, make unsubstantiated statements, and routinely change things that they previously claimed without any moral conviction. There is no such thing as a lie, only misunderstanding. May 21st is all about “misunderstanding”.
Family Radio’s Michael Garcia provided the most workable explanation by saying God delayed so a separation between true and false believers could be done.
It is true that it is God’s desire that none perish, but God already knows who will accept or reject His salvation. Delaying five months will accomplish nothing according to predestination. Nice try though.
God always hears the cry of a heart that repents and you just do not see that with Camping or his followers. Camping’s theology is saturated in personal pride and self justification, he injects personal opinion into the biblical construct where you can no longer identify anything of bible truth.
Adding or subtracting from the word of truth is a curse that is outlined toward the end of Revelation. Using a revisionist approach to make biblical aspects fit your personal ideas has the “cult” definition written all over it. You can not longer be a bible follower when you go by the authority of a human being.
The negative responses brought on by these Camping followers and Camping’s rewrite of biblical facts is an embarrassment to themselves. They are putting themselves in jeopardy to receive their just punishment when Jesus Himself may say, “Depart from Me you workers of iniquity, I never knew you!”
If you confess your sin, He is faithful and just to forgive you of your sin, and cleanse you of all unrighteousness is a verse lifted from 1 John 1:9. This forgiveness is based on “confession” not making up excuses to self justify yourself.
.Camping is using an unknown theology, unknown bible and a well known approach by changing things and conditions as he goes along…..you can always declare yourself righteous using that method.
