Brewhouse, 13 Marshall Street, Norwalk, CT 06854, (203) 853-9110, has hands-down the BEST Sunday brunch you could desire! They have two seatings, at 11:00 AM and at 1:00PM, and you need to call ahead to make reservations. The Brewhouse was originally built in 1920, but has undergone extensive renovations; restoring the beer kettles to their original working conditions. The restaurant if filled with wonderful history, and a great ambiance.
There are two levels for seating, the downstairs is where the brunch spread is setup, and is your best bet. The upstairs is loft-style, and perhaps a bit quieter, but if you are not the best at balancing your meals and your plates, I suggest you call ahead and request sitting on the main floor.
Now for the phenomenal spread of food! If you are interested in breakfast, you can have any kind of egg you desire. The eggs-Benedict is mouth watering. The omelet’s are out of this world, fresh, moist and delicious. There are muffins, bagels, scones, dessert breads, and all kinds of Belgian waffles. They top this off with bottomless refills of Mimosa; don’t like OJ with your Champagne? Have just the Champagne. A feast for the eyes and the taste buds.
Should you still have room, or if you chose not to have just breakfast, there is a multitude of delicious delicacies: Lobster pot pie, Chicken Piccata and Chicken Marsala (which is to die for!) and boneless pork chops, just to name a few. Still not satisfied, have something from the carving board, Turkey, or Prime Rib! It is truly an amazing selection of wonderful delights.
Wait, there’s even more! After you’ve eaten more than you could possible eat in a week, and you’ve drank more than there’s room for, you allow things to settle down with some nice talk and company, and then … You go back for dessert! There is a Viennese table with delicious sweets and pastries, and such wonderful treats that your eyes start to water all over again!
The brunch is a bit pricey at $29.95 per person, but for special occasions, it cannot be beat. It is well worth the trip from anywhere.
