Discussion: We finally rid ourselves of the clouds, showers, and drizzle that have been with us the past several days. Although yesterday was a partly sunny day over most inland areas, the coastal plain experienced another day of gloom, with low clouds, even some spotty drizzle, and a raw ocean wind that set temperatures back to the low 50’s. High pressure now building into the region will support a pleasant day today. Temperatures seasonable inland, but still cool along the coast, as we continue with an onshore flow. Water temperatures are running in the upper 40’s to low 50’s, so the influence of the cold ocean will keep coastal temperatures cool. High pressure begins to move offshore tonight. Low pressure slowly creeps our way from the midwest. We do squeeze out a decent day on Saturday, again with cool temperatures on the shoreline, and there will be more clouds than sun, but all in all not a bad day. Then, by Saturday night the clouds thicken and showers can be expected to move in. A slow moving low pressure system and a stalled frontal boundary, will be responsible for cool and wet weather from Sunday to at least Wednesday. During this time we will have periods of showers, or steady rain from time to time.
