Minnesota moms are invited to take part in the second annual Boobs ‘n Brinner Event on July 10th for an opportunity to have a ten minute session of nursing photographs taken for only $10.
Local photographer Emily Charais of Zollive Photography is hosting the shoot at her studio in conjunction with Facebook breastfeeding advocacy group The Good Letdown.
Tired of only having self-portrait nursing photos where everything is too dark, out of focus, and quite frankly you can’t barely tell what is going on? Well, we’re here to fix that and have fun while doing it.
Enjoy a private photo shoot to capture moments between you and your child nursing. Everyone can hang out and Emily from Zollive Photography will take us one at a time to do a 10 minute photo shoot. This special bond between you and your child will be captured forever!
Sunday July 10th 3pm-7pm
Open House at the Zollive Photography home studio in White Bear Lake Minnesota. Exact address will be provided to attendees.
Indoor and outdoor locations available.
Payment/Product: Please bring $10 cash. Your money will be getting you a 10 minute private photo session to capture your precious nursing moment. You will receive a CD with beautifully edited to perfection portraits.
Please RSVP with a timeframe that will work for you.
How does it work?
We’ll give you an approximate appointment time based on your request. Depending on demand we may expand the open house hours. Everyone will get a 10 minute mini-session for $10 to capture their special moment with nursling(s). Understanding that we are working with children and appetites here, there will be some wiggle room if your nursling isn’t cooperating at your scheduled appointment time. Don’t worry, we get it. :) In knowing that we’re running a tight, but flexible, schedule please be early for your appointment time. You never know if the appointment ahead of you is going to have an uncooperative child so we’ll need to pull a switch-a-roo. :)
If you have older children who aren’t nursing we can all help watch them while you go for your photo session.
The Good Letdown also offers Attire Advice:
Look around the internet for breastfeeding photos you like… what do they all have in common? Time to throw modesty out the window! No covers, no hiding under baggy shirts – time to “whip ’em out” as they say. Button down shirts or a shirt you can comfortable go up over the top is probably your best bet. Go braless or with a bra that has nothing left on top once you unclip the cup. Less busy the pattern on the clothing the better, plain bold colors or bold patterns work best (like polka dots or solid colors). Also, keep jewelry to a minimum because it distracts from the nursing moment.
Participants are also asked to bring a dish to pass:
The almighty important food:Please bring a dish to share for our Potluck Brinner (breakfast for dinner). You get extra coolness points if your dish is boob shaped or breastfeeding related in some way. We will provide the plates, silverware, napkins, cups and water.
For those interested in doing something similar who are outside of Minnesota, the Good Letdown has a blog entry about how to set up something similar in your community here.
This is a great opportunity to get together with other nursing mamas, share some fun and get some unbelievably affordable nursing photos.
