Jazz is a style of music, native to America, characterized by a strong but flexible rhythmic understructure with solo and ensemble improvisations on basic tunes and chord patterns and, more recently, a highly sophisticated harmonic idiom.
So now that it’s understood what we’re dealing with…let’s get this party started! The Atlanta Jazz Festival 2011 is ready to open the Memorial Day weekend with a bang. The City of Atlanta Office of Cultural Affairs announces the 34th Annual Atlanta Jazz Festival’s return to Piedmont Park with a stellar line‐up of both legendary and emerging jazz artists.
Bring the whole family to enjoy this free event, one of the last free music festivals around.
