Scottsdale fans watched as Bentley Williams put on the ultimate bad boy act this week on The Bachelorette and broke Ashley Hebert’s heart. Everyone has been wondering how Ashley feels as she watches it now, as she had not been privy to the solo interviews Bentley was giving where he was saying awful things about her. Luckily, Jimmy Kimmel came to the rescue this week and had Ashley on to talk about Bentley now that he is gone.
Ashley Hebert and Jimmy Kimmel have really hit it off during her appearances, with this week’s being her third. She was officially announced as The Bachelorette on Jimmy’s show, and she appeared the night The Bachelorette premiered on May 23 to chat with him about the show. Now that Bentley is gone, she was on via webcam from her home in Pennsylvania. Jimmy has a great approach of bantering and teasing Ashley in a way that puts her at ease and lets her have fun with it.
Ashley watched this week’s episode with Bentley leaving a few days before it aired, by herself in her apartment. Jimmy teases her that her judgment is terrible and that she needs to run all of her life decisions by him. Ashley shared that “in the moment, I felt so much sincerity [from Bentley]… I saw what I wanted to see, and that was my biggest problem.” Ashley also said that the fact Bentley seemed to relish the opportunity to hurt Ashley is what pained her the most. She wonders why somebody would want to do that, and Jimmy said, “He’s the devil is why he wanted to do it!” He jokes that in order to ever date again, Bentley will have to find an Amish woman who doesn’t own a television.
Kimmel also set up a gag showing a hooded guy dressed like Bentley tied to a chair, and Guillermo was standing behind him with a baseball bat. Ashley shouted “Do it!” and the curtain closed to the sound of Guillermo “hitting” the fake Bentley to get back at him on Ashley’s behalf. Luckily Ashley, though clearly hurt by Bentley’s antics, does seem to be in good spirits and is trying to laugh over the events that happened early on during her season of The Bachelorette.
Chris Harrison and Ashley Hebert have admitted that Bentley does appear again this season, thought to be during episode 6. What fans are really hoping for is to see Bentley on the “Men Tell All” episode where everyone, including Ashley, who have seen his insulting language can give him a piece of their minds. Fans hope that the rumors and spoilers are true and that Ashley is happily engaged to one of the remaining bachelors. The Bachelorette episodes can be seen every Monday night at 7 p.m. on Channel 15 in the Scottsdale area. You can also watch The Bacheloretteonline at ABC.com the day after the show airs.
