Seattle: The Successful Young Women’s Project

Location: NELA Center for Student Success in Washington, 309 23rd Ave. S, Seattle, Washington 98144
Description: The Successful Young Women’s Project will be a day of workshops geared towards helping young women of Rainier Beach High School look beyond high school and to post secondary education. There will be workshops around: writing the college essay, accountability, post secondary options, and the importance of community service. The primary goal of this event is to provide critical information to the young ladies and increase successful secondary and post-secondary outcomes, while creating an awareness that success in education will yield a positive future.
Volunteers can help in a variety of ways: 1. Be on the committee for pre-event planning 2. Lead a workshop 3. Helping on day of the event with logistics 4. Participating in the service portion of the event, the afternoon of.
Workshops will be held at NELA Center for Student Success in Washington. The address: 309 23rd Ave. S, Seattle, Washington 98144
Join us on May 14, 2011 and help show that education is the key to change.
