The annual “All My Children Fan ClubWeekend” continued this afternoon with the kids event, “All my Children: Scoops With The Kids.”
At the event for ice cream, fun and autographs were Tate Berney (AJ Chandler), Danielle Parker (Emma Lavery), Jake Vaughn (Spike Lavery), Mackenzie Aladjem (Miranda Montgomery), Darby Jo Hart (Jenny Martin), Britton Reeder (Ian Slater), Ellah Miller (Gabrielle Montgomery) and Michael & Brody McMackin (Trevor Martin).
Also in attendance were “TV moms” Christine Bennett Lind (Bianca Montogemery), Sarah Glendening (Marissa Chandler) and Stephanie Gaschet (Madison North).
Lucky fans got to act out a scene one-on –one with Danielle, Tate and Mackenzie. Things took a hilarious turn when a guy played Greenlee to Danielle’s Emma.
The girls took questions from the audience as well. When asked what it was like to work with Cameron Mathison, who plays Ryan Lavery, father to Emma. Danielle answered that he was the nicest guy. “He is a really, really, nice guy,” she tells the crowd. “He’s like a friend. It’s like being around your best friend all the time.”
The three adults, Christine, Sarah and Stephanie, are asked if they have children themselves, to which they all answered no, much to the crowd’s surprise. It’s noted what a good job the three do interacting with the kids and playing mothers on camera.
The kids then go around the room introducing themselves to the fans one by one, taking pictures and signing pictures, even three year old Britton, who plays Ian Slater, Zach and Kendall Slater’s son.
“Hi, how are you,” he walks right up to me and says, with a little prompting from his mom. He tells me it’s nice to meet me and when tell him how much I enjoy watching him on television, he says “Thank You” all on his own.
The kids seem very close as Britton Reeder (Ian) and TV brother, Jake Vaughn (Spike), hug each other, play and wrestle on the floor, in between scoops.
Another cute moment is when Ellah Miller (Gabrielle) is taken by around the room by her mom to meet the fans. The three- year old also autographs photos and poses for pictures with fans.
Finally, after healthy (okay, not so healthy) servings of ice cream, Danielle leads the raffle drawing, where fans won such prizes as, signed scripts, t-shirts, signed music CDs by Jacob Young (JR Chandler), copies of DVDs starring the kids and signed by them, drawings by Emma, as well as some props from the show, including a backpack and some clothes used on the show during the Emma is kidnapped at Ryan’s wedding storyline.
As the event wore down, Danielle and the group, thanked the crowd for attending and hoped they enjoyed their prizes.
It was a perfect way to celebrate the kids on the show, who are so small in size, but contribute to “All My Children” in such a big, big way.
