Perhaps you are considering a cat to provide you company?
Take a look at Dreamweaver. She is available at Almost Home Foundation and looking for a purrfect home.
“Up until a few months ago, I was the living the dream of every cat. I had a home and a family. Then, early one cold and snowy morning, I was abandoned at a pet store. My family didn’t even leave a note. Christmas was three weeks away.
Later, someone found me and took me to a place called a foster home. The people there named me Dreamweaver–a perfect name, they say, for a dream girl like me.
My foster family says that I’m everything dreams are made of…if you come and meet me–and I really hope you do!–hopefully you’ll think so, too.
I am a sweet and gentle soul, eager to please and fond of people. Calm and quiet, I find happiness in the little things: food, belly rubs, kitty beds, soft blankets, peace and quiet…that’s my style! I’m a really good and simple-hearted girl. And I love attention once I know you, so don’t be surprised when I start following you around one day!
My silly side makes everyone laugh. I can often be found rolling around happily, and sometimes I’m in the mood for games and playing. I’m only a little over one year old, so there’s plenty of spunk in me yet!
I am also super unique-looking. I have silky, smooth white fur with colorful calico patches all over–and it’s the softest plush fur imaginable! My brown-striped tail is unique, too: it’s very short and round.
It is springtime now, and I’m still waiting for my forever home. It’s not my pretty looks or sweet personality that’s keeping people away. The reason people don’t notice me is because I don’t “show well.” When you’re a cat up for adoption, “not showing well” means you get overlooked.
I turn into a nervous and timid kitty at the adoption shows and Luv-a-Pet center. Curled up in the back of my cage, I hide under the blankets, too scared to interact with anyone. Maybe it’s because the store holds bad memories for me–after all, it is the place where I was abandoned. Once I return to the home environment, my nerves and timid feelings melt away.
Isn’t there anyone out there dreaming of me? Peeking out from beneath the blankets, I’ve watched countless people pass me by without a second look. I want to be cuddled, I want to be snuggled, and more than anything, I want to be loved. I want to weave a dream for my special someone.
I need you…and am hoping you need me, too. Please be my second chance. If you look with your heart instead of your eyes, you’ll see my true colors shining through the fear. Hand in paw, we’ll make each other’s dreams come true.
Please contact my foster home at [email protected] if you are interested in adopting me.”
This pet also is eligible for 30 days of pre-paid pet health insurance. For more information please visit www.sheltercare.com or call 1-866-375-PETS.
