Ashley Hebert had great dates on this week’s episode of ABC’s The Bachelorette 2011, but then she had to tackle another rose ceremony and things get a little crazy. After the dates, Ames, Ben F. and Constantine already have roses, and she is supposed to send two guys home without a rose. Does she have it all figured out heading into the rose ceremony?
Ashley is still struggling with whether the guys are there for her, or if they are disappointed that The Bachelorette was not Emily Maynard or Chantal O’Brien. While she had a good time on the dates, she is still working through her issues with Bentley Williams having left the week before, and she does not have all of her confidence back. As she talks to the guys throughout the cocktail party, it is obvious she is still struggling.
Ashley pulls West Lee aside, and wants to learn more about him. She is wondering whether he is ready to get in a serious relationship again after losing his wife a few years ago. In addition to Ashley deciding who to keep and who to send home, things are getting tense between Ryan Park and the other bachelors. While to fans he has seemed like a casual, happy, fun guy, the other bachelors perceive him as being abrasive. Blake confronts Ryan about how he is perceived, and Park seems completely shocked by the conversation. Blake says that the guys can’t gauge how genuine Ryan is and they think that a different Ryan appears when Ashley is around.
Ashley also asked Ryan about his constant happiness, and he says that what she sees is the real him. He admits that the guys don’t seem to care for it, but Ashley shares that she loves his positive energy and the fact he has his act together. Ashley shares that she had a great evening – she walked in with a lot of questions and walked out with a lot of answers. In talking with Chris, Ashley shares that she had a great week. She admits that she is still a bit hung up on Bentley and wishes for better closure. Hebert says that she feels the door is still open and she is having a hard time moving forward. She felt that the potential with Bentley was so great and now she feels like she’ll never know what might have been. She realizes that she focused on Bentley early on and didn’t give any of the other guys much of a chance.
Going into the rose ceremony, the plan was for Ashley to send two guys home. She tells Chris, however, that she wants to break the rules and send only one guy home. Chris says no problem, there are no rules and he’ll add an extra rose. Ashley gives Lucas the first rose, followed by Ryan, J.P. and Nick. Next to receive roses are Mickey, Blake, William and Ben C. In the end, West Lee is left without a rose and he will be heading home.
