Denver is going to close out the workweek in fine fashion with temps still a bit below normal but comfortable and a lingering slight chance for afternoon storms. For the weekend Saturday has the potential to be very active with a good shot at severe weather making an appearance.
High pressure starts to take over in Colorado and that will lead to warmer temperatures on Friday although the mercury will still remain a bit below normal. Once some morning cloud cover burns off we will be left with mostly sunny skies and heading for a high of around 75 degrees.
As much as we would like to remove it, there is a slight chance for some isolated thunderstorms to pop up this afternoon. The best chance will be in the foothills and along the Palmer Divide.
The weather this weekend has the potential for some excitement, at least for Saturday, before calmer conditions arrive on Sunday.

For tomorrow temperatures are going to be around 77 degrees in the Denver metro area with mostly sunny skies above. There will some increase in clouds in the late morning and afternoon and then the weather looks to turn a bit more eventful.
Models indicate that all of the ingredients will be in place tomorrow afternoon for storms to develop with some possibly turning severe. As the Storm Prediction Center is stating in their outlook, there is “increasingly favorable regime for thunderstorm development … along the Front Range and east slopes of the Rockies.”
This could include large hail, damaging wind, brief heavy rain and possibly a few tornadoes. The better chances for the severe weather will be east of the metro area but you will want to keep a close eye on the sky tomorrow.

Sunday should be the calmer and warmer day of the weekend. Highs will be around 81 degrees with mostly sunny skies and the perpetual slight chance for afternoon storms.
Heading into the next workweek ‘seasonal’ would be a good word to describe the forecast. Temperatures look to be right near normal with plenty of sun and yes, a slight chance for afternoon storms on most days.
